I did it! It was a really fantastic experience. 120 cyclists, each of whom were pedalling for their own personal reasons and charities, set off from Crystal Palace in South London last wednesday. The first day was really hard with some quite steep climbs as well as a deadline to make (the ferry!). Northern France was beautiful with a few climbs, though nothing as steep as you would expect to find in my region. Abbeville, the first stop was very pretty and it was nice to stop for a beer at the end of the day at Beauvais on day 3.

Some really brave people took part in this trip, none more so than Eric and Peter, one of whom is blind, who did the trip together on a tandem. John, another participant did the 500km on a shopping bike that was so heavy you could barely lift it. Not only that, he regularly came in with the first riders every morning, god knows what he would be like on a real bike! I made some great friends along the way and together we have raised over 4500€ for ARTHRITIS fondation courtin and Arthritis Research UK.

Thank you for everyone who supported me over the last 6 months.

Andy, Viviane, Benjamin, Amelie...and last but by no means least - Elissa.

  1. Monsieur Andy Chilton,
